This session will explore how the suitability of products and materials is assessed under the NCC and the architect’s professional obligations owed when preparing a design, including: 1. An explanation into how the NCC operates in requiring evidence of suitability of building products, including the 6 possible pathways to proving suitability; 2. What the Architect’s Act requires of architects in terms of specifying compliant products and materials 3. The specific steps or processes that architects should have in place to ensure that they are fulfilling their obligations in relation to product suitability.
