This workshop is a knowledge-sharing and roadmapping exercise on the current state and future avenues in socially just and environmentally responsible construction for the building and infrastructure sectors. Curvecrete will present the journey of one initiative, a geopolymer concrete planter and rest node, through its innovation process to include recycled plastic void formers and calcined clay, and its visual design development, guided by Indigenous co-design processes. Participants will be invited to share and reflect on the current opportunities, challenges and next steps as part of a roadmapping exercise towards a “thriving, restorative and resilient economy”, exploring the Country Centred Circular Economy (CC-CE) framework’s principles around sustainability and justice. This workshop is open to all backgrounds but will have particular benefit for those working in the development and design of buildings and infrastructure.”
